This is a new type of teacher preparation mode. It sets recruitment, training and placed in one body, and are constructed by school districts on the basis of using medical professional clinical hospital mode for reference.Its aim is to reduce the rate of teacher to quit, increase the number of high-needed subject teachers, develop teacher’s leadership, and to improve the students’performance for the school district it served.At the same time, acting as the combination of tradition teacher preparation mode and alternative teacher preparation mode,"teacher residency program" has made up much shortage of these two "elders". And it has become one of the key schemes of the federal government and states on teacher education reform. It represents a sort of new orientation to shift down the teacher education focus from preparation institutions to the need of school district that teacher education served, schools and students. With the help of this mode, the education reform of Obama administration certainly will lead the education of the USA walk to another peak. |
