Students in our society are very valuable human resources, and the hope of the Chinese nation, the future development and national prosperity. As China’s economic and social development, higher education has been sustained and in-depth reform of college entrance have been expanding, biogenic structure tend to diversity, a significant increase in the proportion of minority college students in which non-ethnic institutions. Minority college students, mostly from China’s border and economically underdeveloped regions, economic hardship, language barriers and learning interpersonal suited to the problems and difficulties they faced in college. In recent years, ethnic separatist forces, religious extremism, violence, terrorism and hostile western forces in ethnic minority areas on the rise, coupled with limited network widespread dissemination of information and ethnic minority college students to distinguish right from wrong, Had a great impact on the ideological status of minority college students, non-ethnic institutions of minority ideological and political education is facing new challenges. In this regard, this article had made the survey of minority students’ ideological and political situation in non-ethnic institutions, and analyze the problems and the reasons of minority college students’ ideological and political education in non-ethnic institutions, and the article had made study of how to strengthen minority college students’ ideological and political education.
