The task of training ethnic minority students in mainland colleges and universities is an important embodiment of the in-depth implementation of the party's national policy and the performance of its function of training talents.It is an inevitable requirement for the promotion of economic and social development in ethnic areas,the promotion of national unity,and the maintenance of national unity.With the rapid development of our country's economy and society and the deepening of higher education reform,the number of ethnic minority college students from borderland in inland colleges and universities has begun to take shape,and the diversity of student source structure is becoming more and more remarkable.However,compared with colleges and universities in ethnic minority areas,non-ethnic universities in the mainland lack the experience of education management for ethnic minority students,and the rigid management model is becoming more and more inadaptable to the target groups of special education.Management,teaching and service models are often lack of systematic,especially ideological and political education is facing severe challenges.This study is based on the reality of ideological and political education in colleges and universities,on the basis of drawing lessons from relevant research results at home and abroad,First of all,starting with the concept analysis,this paper defines the related concepts of ideological and political education of ethnic minority college students in frontier areas.On the premise of grasping the particularity of the life and cultural background of ethnic minority college students,a questionnaire survey was carried out on the ethnic minority college students from the frontier areas in Shenyang University of Technology.Combined with the relevant information obtained from the functional departments of colleges and universities,student management workers and teaching workers and so on,this paper sums up the current situation of thought,study and life of minority college students during their studies.From the point of view of teaching and management,the problems faced by students of ethnic minority groups in border areas are analyzed.In teaching,college students of ethnic minorities in border areas and of Han nationality have classes together with uniform teaching content and methods.In the classroom teaching that Han culture is the subject,the college some difficulty in understanding the teaching language and interacting with teachers and other students.Daily management is lack of humanistic care for ethnic minority students in frontier areas,which mainly reflects inadequate national literacy among ideological and political workers,unsound management model,and single management means.In view of the above causes,the author put forward corresponding countermeasures in the aspects of adjusting the contents of ideological and political education,strengthening the construction of ideological and political education carriers,and improving the quality of service management,so as to promote the further development of ideological and political education for ethnic minority college students in the non-ethnic universities in the mainland.
