The mathematical knowledge learned in high school course isactually put in use of a low frequency. The key point is learning how tosolve problems in the vision of mathematics. The high schoolmathematics teaching should focus on the mathematical thinkinginstead of merely the exam points.“Mathematics is the science of spatial forms and quantitativerelations” stated the current high school mathematics syllabus. Inconclusion, the geometry and algebra are the two objects of primaryand secondary mathematics education study. Curriculum reform inShanghai has been walking in the forefront throughout the country, sothis research focuses on the combination mathematical thinking ofgeometry and algebra,“the combination thinking”, in the Shanghaihigh school math text books.Analysis of teaching materials research textbook chapters initself contains the number shape union thought method, summarizesthe existing Shanghai high school math teaching in the correspondingchapters and the sections corresponding to the permeablemethodology of number-shape combination, and to assist the directoryare given in the form of.The teaching research is delivered in survey and analysis in thefollowing aspects,1.the students’ understanding on the combination thinking inindividual chapters;2.the ability to realize the combination thinking in individualchapters;3.the preference on the geometry and algebra in male and femalestudents;4.the preference on the geometry and algebra in the liberal arts and science students;5.the acceptance of visualized and formulized solution;6.the students suggestions on the standardized solution incombination thinking and etc.The examples are excerpted from the textbooks. Suggestionsare proposed for the combination thinking. According to the surveyresult, the science students should pay more attention to the visualizedsolution and the liberal arts students to the formulized solution in theseparate mathematical course in Grade12.
