The study on the students with learning difficulties has been one ofthe major issues in the fields of pedagogy and psychology. They allhave poor performances in their studies, furthermore, most of themhave caused a variety of social and behavior problems due to learningdifficulties. These problems not only affect the personal development,cause trouble to the family, but also bring risks to social stability. Thestudy on students with learning difficulties not only promotes qualityeducation, but also has important realistic meaning in improving thesocial employment, stabilizing the social development. Almost all thepredecessor’s studies are focused on the characteristics, causes of thepoor students and the conversion strategies from the perspective of theschool teaching, there has been few studies were from the perspectiveof parenting style. On the theoretical and practical bases, by using theliterature analytic method, the narrative research method, the interviewmethod, the author carried on a research on a junior middle schoolstudent with borderline intellectual functioning from the perspective ofthe parenting style.The thesis has five chapters. The first chapter is the introductionwhich elaborated the reasons, purposes and significance of theresearch, the research methods and the definitions of relevantconcepts. The second chapter is the literature analysis review whichcovered four perspectives which respectively are the characteristicsof the students with learning difficulties, the contributing factors of thestudents with learning difficulties,the conversion strategies from theperspective of the school teaching,and the parenting style of thestudents with learning difficulties. The third chapter is a story about XiaoDi who is the research target of the thesis. In this chapter,the author stated Xiao Dis family background,growth experience, academicperformance, behavior performance and the parenting style. Thefourth chapter is the narrative inquiry of the parenting style. Part oneanalyzed the characteristics of the parenting style of Xiao Di’s parents.Part two recorded Xiao Di’s feedbacks when the parenting style wasadjusted. The fifth chapter is the suggestions for the students withlearning difficulties. According to the common features of students withlearning difficulties,the author gave some advices from three aspectswhich respectively are emotion,academic and behavior.
