Social Anxiety refers to emotional responses and evasive behaviors that have strong anxiety, nervousness,or fear about one or more interpersonal situations. There are also many studies on social anxiety in junior high school students at home and abroad. The studies show that there are many factors that cause social anxiety in junior high school students. There are both external environmental factors and individual factors. The family factor is the most direct factor in the external factors. The family is the first place for the child to grow up.And the parental upbringing style has become the most important factor that affects the child's development. The core self-evaluation of the individual's factors is also an important factor that affects social anxiety. This study discusses the relationship between junior high school students` social anxiety and parenting styles, core self-evaluation and the mediative role of core self-evaluation.In this study,357 junior high school students in a secondary school in Shouguang City were investigated by using the EMBU,the Core Self-Evaluation Questionnaire and the Social Anxiety Scale(SAS-A)to investigate the relationship between parental upbringing style and social anxiety, and the mediative role of core self-evaluation.The study concludes that:(1)There are significant differences in the social anxiety of junior high school students in terms of gender, origin, and parental education. The social anxiety of junior high school boys is significantly higher than that of girls. The social anxiety of junior high school students in rural areas is significantly higher than that of students in urban areas.(2)The social anxiety of junior high school students was negatively related to the emotional warmth of the father and mother, and was significantly positively related to the severe punishment, excessive interference, refusal to deny, and excessive protection of the father.Core self-evaluation has a significant negative correlation with the emotional warmth understanding of the mother, and has a significant positive correlation with the severe punishment, excessive interference, refusal to deny, and excessive protection of the father.Social anxiety in junior high school students was negatively correlated with core self-evaluation.(3)The greater the parental encouragement and the less control over the child, the more conducive it is for the child to establish a positive core self-evaluation,thereby reducing social anxiety; That is,core self-evaluation plays an intermediary role in the relationship between parental upbringing and social anxiety.
