Achievement motivation is an important concept in the theory of social psychology. Achievement motivation is that Individual pursuit the job which thinks important or valuable, and. makes the perfect state of internal mental process. Domestic and foreign scholars have studied in this. Parenting Style is communicated to children, parents, children’s attitudes and behavior of the parents expressed the emotional atmosphere of the collection. The research of McClelland shows the origins of achievement motivation. He found cultural background has important role on achievement motivation, especially; there is a certain relationship between the Parenting Style and Achievement motivation. He found, childhood experiences can cause people’s differences in achievement motivation, individuals who grew up in the family which paying attention to the development of personal independence and freedom, the cultural to actively explore everything, have higher achievement motivation. Stress dependent, control and restraint of the family, On the contrary, individuals who grew up in the family full of Stress dependent, control and restraint have low achievement motivation. So Achievement motivation and Parenting Style has an important relevance.Based on the previous studies, through the elaboration of the theory of achievement motivation, Parenting Style and other related theories, we investigated the characteristics of the Achievement Motivation and Parenting Style of College Students, having a further study on the effect of student Achievement Motivation on Family Education level. We want to improve the way parents raise and train achievement motivation, at last, it can promote their physical and mental health.This study Selected322college students in Tianjin Normal University, who’s major is Arts and Sciences, using EMBU, AMS as the subject samples. This study uses descriptive statistics, analysis of variance, and correlation technique for data processing, draw the following conclusions:1. Achievement motivationFor achievement motivation of college students, there were significant differences in in gender, science and arts professional grade. the differences between urban and rural areas and different family economic status is not significant.2. The characteristics of affecting factors of Parenting StyleFather and mother’s parenting style have identical one side, also have different aspects. Living environment, occupation education effected Parenting Style greatly. And different gender children will lead to different parenting style. 3. The important role of Parenting Style plays on achievement motivation.Father’s warmth (F1)Can significantly predict the motivation of pursuing success, Father’s overprotection(FF6) and father’s warmth (F1)Can significantly predict the motive to avoid failure, father’s warmth (F1)and mother’s Punishment and refusal (M3,M4)Can significantly predict achievement motivation scores.The same parenting styles for different gender student’s achievement motivation has different effect. Male and female college students achievement motivation scores significantly correlated withFlandF2, Achievement motivation of female college students score significantly negative correlation with father’s Refuse (F4), and mother’s Punishment and refusal (M3, M4)City college students’ achievement motivation show remarkable positive correlation to mother’s Punishment and refusal (M3, M4) and Negative correlation to father’s warmth(F1).The rural students’ achievement motivation scores have no significant correlation to various factors of Parenting Style.
