The quality of teaching is not only the lifeline of the school and the basement ofschool’s survival and development, but also the guarantee of the dignity and happinessfor the teachers and students. It was pointed out that “Improving quality is the coremission of higher education development as well as the basic requirement of building apower of higher education” in National Medium and Long-term Educational Reform andDevelopment Plan. In this background, it has become the main content of this paper torethink the College Aerobics Teaching Quality.This paper uses the literature material, questionnaire, on-the-spot investigation andother research methods. By using the classical education theory and the educationthought combined with the requirement of “Curriculum Standards of Sports and Health”and “The National College of Physical Education Curriculum Teaching Instruction” andbased on the depth interview of the Hunan Province ordinary universities aerobicsteaching quality, the author studied and rethought the teaching quality of ordinaryuniversity aerobics in Hunan Province setting out from the current situation of teachingsubject, teaching methods, teaching evaluation and assessment etc. in the teachingprocess of Hunan Province ordinary universities aerobics.The main conclusions of this paper are listed below:(1)At the moment,the rate of the colleges which provide aerobics courses over allthe college in Hunan Province is relatively high, which shows that the importance ofaerobics courses.(2)The guiding function of aerobics courses among all college in Hunan Province isvery clear. Based on the feature of aerobics, the students are grouped according to theirgrade and gender.(3)The teaching methods of aerobics are various and the teachers are skilled in all ofthem. However, the traditional ways of teaching, such as demonstration and oralpresentation, are still the main stream. The up-date technology such as the Internet andmultimedia play relatively small part in teaching.(4)Bad quality of fields and shortage of equipment restrict the scheduling andimplementations of teaching, besides that, these factors also have negative effects on theinterest of the student.(5)The aerobics course is only focused on the physical fitness and the movementskill of student which ignore the factor that how well the student could understand and using the aerobics knowledge. The way of examining is too simple which only basedhow well the student could perform the movement. In this way, the students are not in theactive position during the examining processing and only examining the skills ofaerobics movement is not reasonable and cannot fully evaluate the students.It was concluded that: the teaching goal of Hunan Province ordinary universitiesaerobics is not clear and specific so that it cannot provide specific scientific and rationalguidance for the aerobics teaching practice; Teaching content changes in small, teachingform is single and cannot with the students’ practical needs of the combination; Theperformance evaluation has the features of lack of main body and stressingstandardization too much. And the related proposal is put forward on this basis.
