Cyxomjnhcknn holds that child’s wisdom is cultivated by nimble fingers. Fine Motor Skills of hands reflects the integration and coordination ability of visual, tactile, movement sensation, and it would roundly effect on child’s living and study. Traditionally, activities such as construction blocks, fingers game, drawing, writing, etc., are used to promote fine motor development. With the innovation of teaching, small muscle skills related to daily life are becoming significant contents of child health education, such as chopsticks use, spoon use, bottom done-up, tying shoelaces, folding clothes, etc..Chinese eat with chopsticks instead of knife and fork. The skill of using chopsticks is not only relevant to tools manipulation ability, but also acts like a core experience that promoting the integration development of fine motor ability in early years. Under the perspective of the dynamic systems theory, this study aims to investigate on recent situation of children chopsticks holding gesture and cultivation circumstances at home; to compare different tool-manipulation skills and their possible relationships, and to grasp an brief understanding of learning progress of chopstick manipulation skill. All these based on two experiments:Experiment1is a within-subject design, and it compares the dynamic characteristics of child chopsticks use and spoon use by motor video sample analysis technique; Experiment2is a cross-case study which chasing the overall process of chopstick-use skill learning, from how-to-pick-up to proficient manipulation level. This study finds that:Firstly, chopsticks use and spoon use are same in motor sequence and appearance, which indicates that these skills share experiences of body coordination and control to some extent and that is the primary precondition of motor transferred effect. According to the comparison of the dynamic characteristics, motor tempo and rate are effective index to evaluate the standard of manipulation level of chopsticks use and spoon use, and also good in verbal guidance while teaching.Secondly, chopsticks use skill learning is a practicing process of non-stop synergetic activitis within multi-systems, in order to maintain an optimized coordinate body state. The skill learning of chopsticks use is a multi-paths, leap-type development process, which based on physical maturity, relevant motor experience, social environment support and repeatable practicing.Thirdly, children, ages from2to5, are mainly use crossed type of chopsticks holding gesture. Moreover, this skill would be better and better in pace with growing during early years. Exercising with fun is a effective way to promote fine motor development.
