Our country has five thousand years history on the development of civil ization, and it is world-famous for its etiquette and ancient civilization. But, because of the historical reasons, especially during this particular historical period of the Great Cultural Revolution, someone cursed our etiquette culture s from thousand years of accumulation, which were considered to be decepti ve, formalistic and to belong to the "four olds" and the bourgeois ideology. Thus, our etiquette cultures were swept into rubbish dump, which were disca rded completely. By the way, our countrymen were under the landslide of th e moral civilization and lived in disorder. This phenomenon made damage to our national image.For more than a decade, based on the spirit of the documents from th e Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,all schools, includin g universities, middle schools and primary schools, have made kinds of etiqu ette education. Etiquette education is being in the ascendant. However, the fa ct of the weak efficient of the etiquette education is undisputed for kinds of subjective and objective reasons. On December,30,2010, the Ministry of Education published the "guiding essentials of civilization etiquette education in primary and middle schools". The essentials indicated that it’s necessary to improve the pertinence and efficiency of the civilization etiquette educatio n.This paper sums up five main reasons for the inefficiency of etiquette e ducation in the countryside elementary schools, namely, the lack of efficient etiquette education network, the chain rupture of "knowing" and "doing", the missing of mental health education, the negative effect of social environme nt, and the insufficiency of scientific assessment system. According to the su rvey and analysis of these reasons, three countermeasures are put forward to improve the efficiency of etiquette education in rural primary schools, name ly, to make rich ways of consolidating the foundation and cleaning the sourc e, to promote the cultivation of etiquette emotion, to innovate the modes of etiquette evaluation.
