| Chengdu, located in Sichuan Basin of western China, enjoyspleasant climate and ample products, which has been known as the land of abundance.Chengdu was the capital city of Shu in Three Kingdoms period, till now, it hasdeveloped for more than2,000years. During this period, it has formed a unique folkculture and lifestyle. On the other hand, Chengdu has been famous for its unique naturalenvironment and climate characteristics. Nowadays, with the opportunity of developingthe western region of China, Chengdu is taking big steps toward a well-off societyunder the guidance of the12th national Five-Year Plan. Chengdu’s economy isdeveloping rapidly; people’s life quality has been improved as well. Meanwhile, theypay much more attention to recreation and education, which play an important role inpeople’s life. On the other hand, according to the relevant national standards, life qualityhas relation with a number of factors, and the mass sports activities consumption ratioof the household is an important indicator. In Chengdu, badminton is one of importantmass sports activities, so it is important for us to understand its development. Throughdocuments, questionnaires, interviews, mathematical statistics, logic analysis and othermethods, this thesis has carried out research on the development of badminton sports inChengdu. It mainly includes the activity environment, population characteristics, sportsmeans, consumption features and other facets. Through investigation and analysis, wehave understood characteristics and problems of badminton, one of the mass sportsactivities in Chengdu. The survey shows that:1, The geographical environment in Chengdu is very suitable to carry out massbadminton sport, this kind of environment is an important factor in rapidly developingbadminton as a mass sports activity in Chengdu. In the mean time, people’s pursuit ofcomfort and leisure lifestyle in Chengdu also has a significant role in greatly promotingbadminton as a mass sports activity.2, At present, the main force of the mass badminton activity in Chengdu is35-year-oldto45-year-old people, who have relatively stable work and income, so they have morefree time and consumption power to take badminton as a mass sports activity. On theother hand, the number of younger and older participators is relatively small, whichaffects comprehensively developing badminton as a mass sports activity in Chengdu.3, There are various ways to carry out badminton as a mass sports activity, butparticipating groups are relatively concentrated, mainly constituted by friends, relatives,and colleagues. Badminton clubs develop slowly and there are some problems.Amateur matches for mass badminton sport are few and not so interesting, only attracting some people.4, At present, the mass badminton sport in Chengdu is mainly carried out in the chargessite. However, the layout of these sites is not so proper. These sites usually distributebetween the second ring road and the third ring road, mainly concentrating in west andsouth Chengdu.5, The spending power of mass badminton participants in Chengdu is relatively high,but at the same time, we should note that some people have not achieved this kind ofconsumption level.6, The base number of mass badminton population in Chengdu are large, andcontinuously changed lifestyles help form a huge market for mass badminton activity inChengdu. However, the present market development of mass badminton activity is stillnot complete, which can not meet the need of badminton participants. |
