Research On The Problem Of Spread And Influence Of Christianity Among The Universities In Jilin Province

With the diversification of Chinese society, there has been the concerned "religion rising" phenomenon within the society. Meanwhile,"Belief" has increasingly become a focus of party’s and national attention. Because belief is connected with national problem, it naturally becomes one of the key issues. As one of five major religions, Christianity stands the top of world religions which owns2.2billion followers according to the latest statistics. College students are times thermometer,"religion rising" has naturally been reflected among them, and it impacts their thinking, affects their outlook on world, on life and on values. As colleges and universities are chief positions for training constructors and successors, so college students’belief and religion belief are bound to become an important aspect relating to national fate. In recent years, Christianity is growing up among the youth and it entered into the university campus for believers with higher educational background. But it is noteworthy that there have always been some overseas religion organizations and social forces which under the umbrella of religions, they implement religious infiltration activities with ulterior motives on the purpose of overthrowing political power and socialist system, destroying stability and unity of the motherland. Taken Christianity as a tool, they enhance the ideological evolution of the youth.This article mainly discusses the dissemination and influence of Christianity inside colleges and universities of Jilin province from four parts. In the first part, through extensive literature survey method, the author elaborated concepts and theoretical basis related with religious belief and Christian faith. In the second part, the author carried out a belief investigation from different types and different grades students in Jilin province with the method of questionnaire and individual interview, and elaborated the basic situation in detail. In the third part, basing on the results of investigation, the author found out reasons and influences why Christianity spread so fast in colleges and universities. In the fourth part, there are countermeasure analyses of the problems, hope to help students establish a correct concept of religious belief, also to provide some strategic choices of belief education for ideological teaching staff in the colleges and universities. Because of the theoretical level and some uncompleted aspects during investigating, the author has failed to give more comprehensive exposition, hoping to do further research in future study.
