Education leads the development of society, and the development of educationdepends on the high-quality teachers. Teacher learning is the basic and guarantee ofteacher professional development. Teacher school-based learning is the learning inwhich a teacher, as a learner, studies something based on school. It’s emphasized thatteachers take study and research initiatively, and its aim is for improving teachersustainable development for his/her profession. As a new field in China, theaccumulation of the study of teacher school-based learning is still not enough,especially the relevant empirical research is rare, the primary school teachers as theresearch object the microcosmic research less.Based on the literature review of predecessors of teacher learning and teacherschool-based learning, I have conducted the study in two sections: the investigation forteacher learning and the action research on teacher school-based learning.The investigation in first section was carried out in7primary schools in the city ofGuangzhou Yuexiu District. In this study,I investigated200primary teachers by usingthe questionnaire as a tool, interviewed35teachers with semi-structure style, throughthe study of the situation of teacher learning, learned from the current primary schoolteachers’ learning situation and existing problems, as the teacher school–based learningstudy provides reliable data. Research shows that most of teachers have learninginternal motivation for the improvement of self-professional development, seeking forthe learning content related to their jobs and subject study. They think the most effectiveways to study are viewing and emulating teaching, communicating with colleagues,introspecting teaching. The biggest difficulties are heavy workload and lack of energy tostudy teaching.The study in second section is the participant action research about school-basedlearning conducted in the school which I work. According to the analysis of schoolcharacteristics, shortcomings and teachers in the school study, apply learningcommunity model of the teacher school-based learning to carry out the study.Both increasing the External Support of Building learning community model are the basics of the teacher school-based learning in this paper, and cooperating withexperts to study is the effective way of promoting teacher school-based learning.Guiding teachers introspection unceasingly is the key of the teacher school-basedlearning, and it’s also the important way of the teacher professional development、sustainable development.There are five parts of this paper. Chapter1introduces the topic background,research purpose&significance, content&methods. Chapter2is about literature withtwo parts, Teacher Learning&Teacher School-based Learning. Chapter3is aboutdescription and analysis of the Questionnaire and interviews of Guangzhou YuexiuDistrict Primary School Learning Situation. Chapter4is about the action researchdesign, practice and analysis of teacher school-based learning of Guangzhou YuexiuDistrict Shachong Primary School with focus on the process of common form of theschool-based learning. Chapter5discusses the status survey of teacher school-basedlearning&action research results with constructive thinking.
