Singapore is a developed country thinks highly of pragmatism and efficiency. Inorder to cater for the new challenges, Singapore has launched a series of reformmeasures to improve the quality of preschool education in the last ten years from thebeginning of21st century. The thesis has made some systematical researches on thebackground, procedure, measures and effects of the preschool education reform inSingapore. Some experiences of the reform have been probed and bring someinspiration to improve the quality of preschool education in China.The thesis is made up of five sections. The first section consists of the reasonsof choosing this topic, the relevant concepts of the research, the research conditionin China and abroad, the research contents and methods. In the second section, thereasons of the reform are discovered, which include the domestic and overseasbackgrounds well connected with the reform in Singapore. The third sectionillustrates the development of preschool education reform, which can be divided intothree stages, including preparing, carrying out and deepening. In the forth section,three reform measures adopted are demonstrated, which are showing as follows:promoting the quality of preschool teachers, developing the framework ofkindergarten curriculum and improving the system of quality evaluation. The fifthsection mainly states the effects and experiences brought by the reform, also puts upsome hints and suggestions to develop preschool education in China.
