In recent years, the campus emergencies that frequently occurred notonly threatens the stableness and development of colleges anduniversities, but also challenges the traditional management system andmode of colleges and universities. A majorly serious subject—"themanagement of campus emergencies" begin causing extensive concern ineducation circle. The campus emergencies have a severe effect on normalteaching and management, spoil the reputation and image of the collegesand universities, and threat its reform, stability and development, whichwould further influence the politics, economy, spirit and other differentfields of the whole society, and disturb the social stability and unity.Therefore, it’s a significant and urgent social problem to respondeffectively to the campus emergencies, which is also a brand new subjectin the ideological and political education research. The ideological andpolitical education which is considered as the lifeline of all the work hasstrong political advantage, thus the research on its respondence to campus emergencies has important realistic meaning and theoretical significance.It could play a unique role in the campus emergencies to ensure thestability and development of schools.This article applies ideological education and related theories tosystematically research how ideological education responding to campusemergencies, using specific campus emergencies as research backgroundand logical starting point. In the first place, this article summaries thefunctions of ideological education’s respondence to campus emergenciesat home and abroad, analyzing the defects to find a way of innovation inthis paper. Secondly, briefly analyzing related theories about campusemergencies, this article illustrates the definition, traits, types and causesof campus emergencies. Then, it comes up with the possibility andnecessity of ideological education intervening into campus emergencieson that basis. Finally, the author sums up the early warning andpreventing functions of ideological education before the campusemergencies, like function in the campus emergencies, and integratingfunction after the campus emergencies in accordance with the occurrence, evolution, and development of the emergencies in chronological order.Meanwhile, this article focuses on the ways and means of howideological education works in each stage through combining relatedreferences and research data, which is also the research finding of thispaper.
