The ideological and political education for college students is designed inresponse to the implementation of the strategy of rejuvenating China through scienceand education and the national talent strategy, which are carried out by the CPC andthe Chinese government. And this social practice targets on the political education forcollege students, the education on ideals and convictions and the cultivation ofpeople’s ideological and political qualities.Promoting the popularization of Marxism in colleges and universities is ahistorical task of our time, for it can help the majority of college students establishfirm ideals and convictions, master scientific world view and methodology and tampthe ideological basis of building socialism. The main channel of arming the students’mind with the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics in colleges anduniversities is in the education activities from both major classes and the second class.Previously, in the process of promoting the interaction on the popularization ofMarxism in colleges and universities, the major concern used to be on how to teach,rather than on how to arouse the students’ enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.Therefore, the author of this thesis carries out detailed analysis on the real conditionsand basic situations of the promotion for the popularization of Marxism amongcollege students, and with the help of a questionnaire, analyzes the current situation ofideological and political theory courses in colleges and universities. And thesubjective reasons that why ideological and political theory courses in colleges anduniversities did not effectively play their role as the major channel are concluded inthis thesis, which are the prevalent thoughts among students such as the uselessness ofthe course, psychological inversion, herd mentality, monotonous effect, inferiority andother adverse psychological factors. To solve these problems, the author proposes thatimportance should be given to the early stage of college education, so as to ease thereverse emotion towards theoretical study; transferring the resistance to driving forceof overcoming the herd mentality and enhancing the effectiveness of ideological andpolitical theory courses in colleges and universities through the innovation of popularteaching methods which can defuse the inferiority on theoretical study. As the secondclass has its unique advantage, the author suggests that social practice activities whichfeature the pulse of the time, should be further enriched and consolidated; strengthenthe role of theoretical student societies on leading the campus culture; underline thebacking role of grass-roots party branches of students; enhance the spiritual strength provided by the campus culture and cooperate with the mass media to promote thetheme of the time, so as to realize the innovation of education on the popularization ofMarxism by introducing the second class activities.In this thesis, on the exploration of the second class, highlights are given to thecampus cultural construction, and the effective role of cyber culture in the process ofthe popularization of Marxism. There are few studies combine the ideological andpolitical theory courses in colleges and unive rsities and the second class, sopromoting the popularization of Marxism among college students through theintegration of these two factors is an innovation point of this thesis.In this thesis, the author explores methods of promoting the popularization ofMarxism among college students, hoping that she can help to make contemporaryMarxist theory more related to the students’ daily life and help them apply scientifictheories to solve real-life problems.
