| Qatar made great Achievements in the15th Asian Games,its success led the world see a different arbic country and achieved a great deal of effects,we can say Qatar is a successful example of a small country hosting major sports events.For a long time, large sports events were the stage show of big countries,but from comprehensive and long-term development perspective of large sports events and sport,small countries hosting large sports events will be a ’win-win’ relationship,it is the future’s development trend,how to play small countries in the role of major sports events will be a topic worth exploring.This paper just followed this line of thought initiated, and hoped that this study not only provides references for some small states who are interesting in hosting large sports events but also provides deep thinking for the organizers of major sports for the suspending development of large sports events.This study used the research methods of literature study, interview method, logical analysis,mathematical statistics and case analysis.The study contacted the main line by the connection of Small countries and large sporting events, on the comprehensive analysis of Qatar hosting Doha Asian Games,then summed up the revelation that the Doha Asian had shown to all countries how to host large sports events successfully and finally arrived at the following conclusions:(1) Qatar has created a new model for small countries in the Asian Games and made the major sports events model innovation;(2) Qatar’s success in the15th Doha Asian Games shows a small country also have the ability to organize large-scale sports events;(3) Each small country has its own special circumstances and characteristics,Qatar’s model depended on sufficient financia in hosting the Asian Games is not suitable for other countries’ circumstances;(4) Doha Asian Games had promoted the further development of sports in Qatar;(5) Doha Asian Games provides many important lessons for Small countries hosting large sports events. |
