Post-baccalaureate teacher education, rosing in developed countries in the1980s, is teachers’professional education essentially, aiming at training specialized teacher personnel like doctors and lawyers. Developing in our country is both drawing experiences from developed countries and a realistic need for developing of society and reforming teacher education. As we all know, teacher’s training is in need of the mutual efforts of multiple members, such as schools, governments and society etc. The government plays a critical role among all these members. Therefore, we research the development of post-baccalaureate teacher education and the role of government not only possesses important theoretical value, but also much practical value in current background of developing our professional degree educations. With the relevant theories about Public Management, this study explains that the government plays its role in post-baccalaureate teacher education and primary ways for realizing, following pointing out our country’s status of the developing of post-baccalaureate teacher education under the govemments,including what has been achieved and that there are still problems, analyzing the cause from the government’s primary ways, finally putting forth some corresponding suggestions to governments so as to promote its role effectively.
