This paper studies language teaching at primary schools in the United States. The UnitedStates is an education powers. The center of teaching target in language teaching process andthe teaching method is students at primary school. The purpose is practical to set up and carryout teaching. Teaching content is arranged based on personal and social actual needs. Theflexible vivid teaching process, with the advanced teaching methods, makes the students tolearn the language knowledge, and cultivates the students’ personal interest in learning.Language teaching at primary school emphasizes the training of students’ reading ability andwriting skills. And both are organically combined in practical teaching. Moreover a variety offlexible teaching mode adopted, a multilingual language environment created, to promotestudents’ language learning and practical applications of exercise. We explore the excellentteaching experience at American primary school language teaching. We sum up the basic rulesfor language teaching. It is that education content and teaching form is practice-oriented,language teaching methods emphasized on practical results, according with the laws of education,development of children’s psychological and physical health. The valuable experiences oflanguage teaching at primary school from USA is combined with Chinese realities, to establish apeople-oriented concept, to use teaching methods that meet the children’s physical and mentalhealth levels and to arrange teaching content. So that the reform of language teaching at primaryschool can be actively promoted in our national and the locals. It makes language teaching atprimary schools to glow with the vitality of life, and promote that the education reform ofChinese primary language smoothly carried out.In this paper, the American language teaching at primary school is comprehensivelyanalyzed.
