Yu Jiaju is a famous educator and social activist in modern Chinese. His papers oneducation reached more than one million words, can target the process of education inmodern China’s reality, to express their unique views, and gave the contribution of China’smodern history of education, far-reaching implications, especially initiated the "ruraleducation", has been widely recognized by the community.Yu Jiaju first pointed out that the crisis in rural education, and dedicated to research in thetheory, formed his unique system of rural education. And pointed that "rural education hasbeen bankrupt,"" we are not willing to buckle down rural education." so the development ofrural education is "going to the Normal School Movement,""going to rural schoolsmovement","going to the general social movement." Yu continued to enrich their thinkingwith the changing times, and wrote the "General Theory of Rural Education," it was calledthe essence of his theory. About the dominant position of rural education, the three purposes,the four systems, as well as the idea of universal education and some successful experiencesare worth learning.Although Yu’s educational thinking inevitably may have historical limitations, but his ruraleducation show a lot of wisdom shines, there are much to learn from the construction of ruraleducation today. To this end, re-evaluate the merits of Yu Jiaju merits, has a far-reachingimpact in the ancient today.This article formed the framework in addition to the preamble and conclusion, includingthe four major research system, the first part is Yu Jiaju life background and biographies,social unrest, full of holes, internal problems foreign aggression, foreign imperialistaggression against China by the expansion of forces, internal unrest by the warlord, times ofhardship, especially in the Northern Government’s various scandals democrats loseconfidence in democracy, the people want to move to a lower, but seeing is their worriesabout rural education, rural people are taking the city, Yu Jiaju issued the first instance of thecrisis in education, and received the support of colleagues, coupled with efforts to promoteeducation journals, a large number of intellectuals emerged, setting off a massive campaign.The second part is an overview of the main Yu Jiaju of rural education, so that people have a general understanding of Yu, in the perspective of rural education to define the substanceand meaning, then the Yu status of rural education and awareness problems and theimplementation of specific direction.The third part is Yujia Ju’s General Theory of rural education, rural education that calledthe essence of the theory, put forward a theory on rural education through the essence ofreason, and its dominant position, three purposes, academic systems, and attaining the idea ofeducation are discussed, which found that Yu bright spot in educational thinking, in addition,Yu Jiaju also raised to carry out some specific practices, such as the creation of ruralexperimental schools, set up rural education, rural education campaign group and so on. Allhas a very good benefit.The fourth part mainly has the characteristics of a certain level of order, as the stateideology of the depth, the latter part of his rural education there was a certain alienation, thispaper in the spirit of seeking truth from facts. The attitude about Yu’s contribution to ruraleducation and limitations is objective and fair.
