Independent College Ideological And Political Education Present Situation And Strategy Research

As a new and special pattern of Chinese higher education,whose target is turning from elites to general students, independent institute is not only the product of the reform and innovation of Chinese higher education but an important part of socialist colleges. Moral education is essential and it’s very important to strengthen the student ideological and political education in colleges including the independent institute. The Party Central Committee and the State Council pointed out definitely in the Document number16"To strengthen and improve the student ideological and political education, to heighten their ideological and political quality and to help them to become the builders and successors of the socialism with Chinese characteristics play a significant and profound role in implementing the strategies of invigorating China through the development of science and education and talents states, in ensuring China’s success in the keen international competition and the achievement in the construction of well-off society in all respects, in accelerating the great goal of socialist modernization and in ensuring that the socialism with Chinese characteristics is flourishing and has no lack of successors." The independent institute is also responsible for the student ideological and political education, but there are many problems and contradictions because of special school-running systems and features of the students. On the basis of reading a lot of relevant documents and materials, via investigation and analysis, and combining with the my own practical experience when working in the independent institute, in this thesis,I study and analyze logically the problems and the reasons of these contradictions of the independent institute student ideological and political education, and then approach the scientific and complete strategies and suggestion.The first part:the connotation, objective and practical significance of the independent institute student ideological and political education. I begin this thesis with analyzing the connotation and objective of the independent institute student ideological and political education, and then mainly state its significance for the healthy and long-term development of the independent institute, for the all-around growth of the students, and for the promotion of the practical effects of the ideological and political education work.The second part:the current situation of the independent institute student ideological and political education. The education has gotten the following initial achievements:the independent institute has attached some importance to the student ideological and political education, and some ideological and political educational services and the full-time working team for student ideological and political education have taken shape initially. But on the other hand, there are varied problems and contradictions:the first place of student ideological and political education has not been implemented yet; the ideological and political course failed in playing the full role as main channel in some independent institutes; the content of ideological and political education is not well-directed enough; the teaching methods lag behind; the ideological and political education doesn’t work well. The reasons for those problems are various, such as the particularity of the independent institute’s school-running system, the impractical target of the ideological and political education, the relatively low quality of the students; the weakness of the team working for ideological and political education and the hysteresis of the campus cultural construction in some independent institute. The above-mentioned problems and reasons have provided the basis for the study of the related strategies.The third part:the effective strategies to strengthen and improve the independent institute student ideological and political education on the basis of the practical problems and reasons. Firstly we should realize the importance of the independent institute student ideological and political education and implement its first place. To do so, the leaders should first raise their awareness and implement its importance and urgency; student ideological and political education should be projected as one important part of the college constriction; and arouse the teaching enthusiasm of all the school personnel. Secondly, we should reform the ideological and political course and improve the teaching effect. It includes the curriculum system reform of the ideological and political course, exploring the well-directed educational contents, innovating the teaching methods and means and improving the evaluation mechanism for the ideological and political course. Thirdly, we should fully establish the students’ subjectivity in the course of independent institute student ideological and political education and strengthen their self-education. The fourth one is to improve the personnel management system in the independent institute and to set up a high-qualified working team for ideological and political education. On one hand, we should raise the teachers’competence and academic level; on the other hand, in order to improve the practical effects of ideological and political education, we should build up ideological work staff the ranks of teachers. The last one is to establish and improve the ensurence mechanism for the student ideological and political education. We should first make clear the subordinative relationship of the party organization in the independent institute, strengthen the construction of party organization, improve the management system of ideological and political education, and optimize the ideological and political educational environment effectively to provide the environmental guarantee for the student ideological and political education.
