Under more fierce competition and greater pressure, the modern societyneeds the practitioners to have more all-round quality, which includes not onlygood quality and professional standard, but also healthy psychological quality andgood will quality, interpersonal relationship, good team-work sense andorganizational coordination ability, besides with innovation spirit. Contemporarycollege students are facing greater employment pressure, consequently morecollege students healthy condition and psychological problems trend, which causedworries and thinking. Along with the implementation of five major teaching targets,namely, sports participation, sports skill, physical health, psychological health andsocial adjustment, brought forward by the new “Program”, and the ceaselessfurtherance of the reform of physical education courses, the effect of physicaleducation courses has been improved, appearing new form and contents of club,special elective, sports health care. Although universities in China have carried outa certain degree of reform and innovation, the impacts of some comprehensiveabilities except for physical quality and mental health are not evident, and we alsoneed new learning mode and contents to adjust college PE course reform. Outwardbound is introduced into universities in accordance to that need. It is not onlycharacterized by the educational function of traditional PE items, but also capableof making up for the weak points traditional teaching in cultivating students’psychological health and social adjustment, consequently presenting and fulfillingthe diversified sports effect and achieving the target of education for all-rounddevelopment. This study, employing the methods of literature review, expert interview, questionnaire survey, mathematical statistics, etc., investigates into theissue of introducing outward bound into Zibo Normal College from boththeoretical and experimental aspects. It thus provides theoretical and experimentalsupport to the issue of introducing outward bound into university public PEthrough probing into the function of outward bound in improving universitystudents’ psychological quality, teamwork spirit and social adjusting abilty.This study mainly focuses on the fundamental concepts, features of outwardbound and its current development and research situation; the impact to physicaland mental development and social adjustment while introducing outward bound touniversity PE course; the analysis on the necessity and feasibility on introducingoutward bound into university public physical education, and finally draws theconclusions as below:1) The theoretical analysis and experimental research show that the issue ofintroducing of outward bound into university public PE is the reform andinnovation to traditional PE courses and that are theoretically based and ofpractical significance and is necessary and feasible.2) The experimental research shows that the impact of introducing ofoutward bound into university public PE in improving the university students’mental health level and social adjustment ability is evident, which adapt toeducation concept and development need.3) The experimental research shows that the impact of introducing ofoutward bound into university public PE in improving the university students’physical quality is not evident. 4) The research shows that the introducing of outward bound into universitypublic PE is feasible in facilities, teachers, materials, funds investment, whichenrich PE course content and make it interesting and practical.In order to carry out the impact of outward bound, the author make somesuggestions as follows:1) The teaching content and targets should be well designed, combining withtraditional PE course to achive effect maximization of health education.2) Duringthe process of teaching, combining with practice, strengthening the innovation, weshould develop more suitable programs of outward bound to the universities andtimely sum up and communicate points, thus enriching teaching content and judgestandard and method of outward bound in universities.3) The impact of different outward bound training programs may not agreewith the students’ physical quality. We should pay attention to the PE coursecontent and the all-round development of the students.4) The facilities of outward bound teaching must be safe and the site andmaterials should be fully prepared.5) Strengthen the construction of outward bound teachers team and improveteachers’ comprehensive quality.
