In many countries’fundamental education developing strategies, English education is taken as one of the most important parts of the civil education.In China. English lessons were set to begun from Grade3of primary school since the autumn of2001. However, the English education of primary school in China still walks in an exploring stage. Teachers of English try it hard to find the balance between ’teaching’&’learning’ but only get a result of high time expense and low efficiency. What’s more, the students have no interest in English lessons and have a passive mood for classroom activities even being bored with English. School ducation pays more and more attention to those common issues.The author designed an investigation of the situation of English classroom activity design in today’s primary school. Questionnaires and interviews were used to collect data. And then the investigation was carried out among some students who are in Grade Six and all the English teachers are form different grades in this school. The author tried to know the real present situation about English classroom teaching activity design in primary school and after that the author collected and analyzed all the related data carefully.It was found that there are a lot of problems existing in English classroom activity design despite some positive effect such as lack of inspiration and high time expense with low efficiency. The author summarized the problems which are found during the investigation, including the activity content problems, activity form problems and participation, etc. The study suggests that we still need to make great efforts to improve our teaching and the designing of activity.Undoubtedly, there remain some problems unsettled or questions unanswered due to the limit to the scope of this investigation and the extent of the author’s current knowledge and ability. This surely leaves more room for improvement and further research.
