It is welcomed by people in thesocial purpose, because of its powerful interactivity and a sense of community, anddemonstrates the unlimited potential. In recent years, the research on using virtual communityto assisted learning is gradually warming up. Through the study of the existing relatedliterature and examples, the author analyzes of the characteristics of virtual learningcommunities, to discuss that the role in promoting of virtual communities in the autonomouslearning, interactive learning and collaborative learning. The author uses virtual learning community in graduate student collaborative learning, and uses the questionnaire method to needs analysis. According to the constructivist learningtheory, six degrees of separation theory and collaborative learning theory, the author rationalchooses a variety of internet technologies, and integrates various functional modules. Thenthe author designs a functional model of the virtual learning community. Finally, the authorusing PHP technology to build the virtual learning community based on the model.
