English is an international language and also as thecommunication tool for people to learn Western culture and spreadnational culture, meanwhile, learning English can proceedhumanities education and improve personality mental growth. Thetools of English and humanities perfect combination is the coreconcerns of language education. The combination of tools andhumanities, not only concerning cultural function and positioning ofEnglish education, but also concerning a reasonable selection andposition of Chinese and Western cultures English textbooksCultural functions and position of the English textbooks is thebasic research of the English textbooks education. The function ofEnglish Language Textbooks is to absorb Western culture and spreadthe national culture simultaneously. Developing students’ culturalawareness and cultural self-confidence in the process of culturalabsorption and cultural transmission is very important. Analyzingcultural position from three dimensions, the first one is by westerncultures Standards. The second one is Chinese cultures Standards. The third one is Chinese and Western compatible Cultures.According to our current English education,“Chinese and westerncompatible Cultures “is the most reasonable.The Chinese and Western various elements constitute cultures ofEnglish textbooks itself is just a cultural representation.It do notexist suitable proportion. The imbalances of Chinese and Westernculture and inappropriate cultural topics affect basic culturalfunctions to achieve. The main task of this study is that byresearching of English textbooks culture perspective and return tothe practice English education, in order to explore its problem ofcultural representation for students cultural output and effects ofmental growth. The problems of cultures are due to its internal andexternal causes. On one hand, is the impact of social and politicaldevelopment, such as lacking the research of our English educationin China. On the other hand, the textbook writers is also a factor.English as a cultural exchange and cultural transmission tool, thecore task aim at not only learning the language itself, through theacquisition of language help learners shape the internationalperspective, international understanding and promote the dissemination of national culture, promote the growth of thepersonality. There are five steps to allocate the cultures of EnglishLanguage Textbooks. First, foster awareness the education of theEnglish localization; Second, design the Chinese culture in textbooksflexibly; Third, establish the objectives of Chinese culture in theEnglish Curriculum Standards; Fourth, textbook writers shouldenlarge their cultural horizons and update the cultural consciousness.Only in this way, we can achieve the perfect combination of tool andhumanities in English education.
