while China is in the era of globalization, the social transition, the coexistence of various values of the collision, lagging behind moral decline. Social public Values education in Chinese universities is also facing the new situation and the challenge. From the position to the implement in social public values education, there exists a series of problems. This paper studies the experience of Western value education to explore some new ideas of China’s university education reform, to enhance the effectiveness of social public values education. This article starts with the definition and the meaning of social public values education as a starting point, then analyze of the current misunderstanding in social public values education of China. Secondly, prove the significance of values education practice in China. Thirdly, the introduction of Western values education-related initiatives, then, design a reasonable path in China through learning the successful experience from the West, also taking account China’s characteristics. There are various problems in facing the value education in our schools, drawing on the reasonable practice of Western values and education, and effectively improving the effectiveness of values education in China is the main content of this paper.
