The new curriculum puts stress on changing passive and single wayof learning, emphasizing students’ initiative consciousness, trainingstudents’ independent learning ability. Independent homework as a newidea and practice model, which breaks through the traditionalhomework’s rigidity and pays attention to consolidating the subjectknowledge. In order to solve the heavy burden of homework, theindependent homework provides an effective way to shift passivelearning to active learning.This paper through the use of literature, questionnaire and interviewmethod to dig deeper the theory of independent homework and toresearch into the current situation and faced problems of AnyangExperimental Primary School. Then through action research to explorethe main factor which affect the independent homework proceedssmoothly.The paper is mainly divided into the following parts:The first part, introduction. Analyze the proposed background of this paper. And expound the significance of the research. Understand therelated concepts of homework and independent homework. Through theanalysis of literature to realize the research situation of current home andabroad, and then analyzes the research purposes of this paper.The second part, discusses the independent work systematically.Analyze the current situation of primary school homework. Explore theindependent homework under the background of the new curriculum. Andthen dig deeper the theoretical assumption of the independent homework,which points out the essential characteristics of independent homework.Thus the research lay a theoretical groundwork for the following researchof Anyang Experimental Primary School.The third part, expounds the developing condition of AnyangExperimental Primary School. Firstly, make a simple comb of developingcondition of Anyang Experimental Primary School, including the goal ofindependent homework, management process and involved sectors. Onthe basis, the author makes a quantity of survey of independenthomework. Through the analysis of the data, and in combination with theinterview method to analyze the existing problems of independenthomework of Anyang Experimental Primary School.Finally, the study sums up the preliminary results, First, independenthomework is a worth further study field. It can help us to solve thecurrent homework burden overweight problem, and can cultivatestudents’ independent ability, develop their potential; secondly, Anyang Experimental Primary School independent homework has its owncharacteristics: first,the independent homework is not fully stressed thecultivation of learning ability, to the exclusion of the accumulation ofknowledge, it great stressed the students’ Chinese accomplishmentaccumulation; second, Three different forms of independenthomework,better handling of the relationship between homework(whichis assigned by teacher) and the independent homework, which is suitablefor the actual situation in our country.
