| In the face of the requirements of regional economic and social development fortalents cultivation quality, it is the inevitable choice of local universities to put emphasison cultivating students’ practical and innovative ability in order to initiatively adapt tolocal economic development and the progress of science and technology. As animportant part of higher education, practice teaching has promoted the combination ofknowledge acquisition and direct experience of college students. Practice teaching playsan irreplaceable role in the cultivation of practical ability and innovation ability of collegestudents, especially science and engineering students.The practice teaching in local universities of science and engineering is discussed inthis paper. Firstly, the relevant concepts, features, theoretical basis of practice teaching andits function in the talents cultivation in the local universities of science and engineeringare analyzed to enrich the theoretical study of practice teaching. Secondly, the philosophy,the funding, the construction of a high-quality teaching staff and the practice baseestablishment of practice teaching of the local universities of science and engineering areanalyzed from the aspects of many segments of practice teaching, such as experiments,internship, practical training, graduation project. The experience and problems of practiceteaching in local universities of science and engineering are summarized to provide basisfor practice teaching reform of local university of science and engineering. Finally, localuniversities of science and engineering should meet the requirements of local economicconstruction and development, cultivate innovative talents and improve practice teachinghardware supports, including optimizing the structure of teaching staff and constructingdouble-qualified teaching staff; putting into more investment; strengthening thecooperation between universities and universities, and the cooperation betweenuniversities and enterprises to build platforms of practice teaching. And universitiesshould improve management system and reform training mode to provide softwaresupports for the effective implementation of the practice teaching, including establishinghumanism ideas, improving management system and evaluation mechanism; reformingmode and building research mode of practice teaching. |
