Speech comprehension difficulties is very important a branch of learning difficulties, It’sone of the main obstacles to impede academic progress. Speech comprehension in elementaryschool grades largely determine the results of their language, and also affects theirperformance in other subjects.In this study, we selest third grade students as objects, through Self Listen To the WordsElect Figure Test to select the students with words understanding difficulty and the studentswith words understandin ability., combined with interviews with teachers, family literacyenvironment questionnaire, classroom observation and research methods analysis of bothcases, the manifestations and causes. The study concluded that:(1)Word comprehensiondifficulties of children do exist, the reasons for its formation is mainly affected by the voiceprocessing capacity, the level of semantic recognition, font style, ability to identify, attentionlevel, emotional, behavioral characteristics, family literacy, environmental factors;(2) wordprocessing, semantic processing, cognitive flexibility point of view of word classificationtraining can improve children’s words to a certain extent the ability to understand, but thereare individual differences in effect;(3) the ability of words to understand these relatively stablecharacteristics of intervention is a long-term process, not a short period of time can be easy,the effect depends on the training methods, children’s personality traits, family environmentand other factors.
