Computer public courses in colleges included “Foundation of College Computer”and “Computer Programming” of the two courses, our teaching object are students ofnon-computer majors in colleges. We researched teaching materials and thecurriculum system about the computer public courses, we designed teaching methodsand evaluation methods. These issues are still worth deeply research by computerteacher.The computer public courses through network teaching platform of THOEL, wegive full play to the convenient of teaching and learning, to have achieved the rationaland scientific organization for teaching, to communicate for learning at any time, andto train ability of students’ autonomous learning, and to make timely evaluation etc.In this study, we have utilized THOEL, the universal network teaching platformat Yanbian University. We have designed teaching activities of “Foundation ofCollege Computer”, and the case design is to focus on the research contents,combined steps to teaching with the task-driven approach of the ConstructivismLearning Theory.As an example,“Web Design” is highly practical and applicable unit. Given thefact that there are many students and little classroom time, the teaching and learningactivities we designed are a mix of the combination of “classroom tasks” and “afterclassroom tasks”, and the combination of traditional and modern teaching methods.These activities are based on modern learning theories and design patterns, whichcombined the teaching functionalities of our network teaching platform. They enablestudents to better understand the teaching materials, and enable us to properly carryout teaching activities, and analyze teaching results.This thesis summarizes the application, exploration, and innovation basednetwork platform in college public computer courses, which provides references forfuture teaching practices.
