This study is conducted to investigate the current situation of the Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) in rural middle schools in Anhui Province. Questionnaire was designed from the perspective of teachers’ perception of TBLT, the implementation of TBLT and the effect of TBLT implementation. The major findings of this research include:(1) English teachers in rural middle schools in Anhui province have a positive attitude towards TBLT. Therefore, most of them have used TBLT in their classroom. It really enhances the performance of both teachers and students, but the effect seems not good enough.(2) Female teachers in rural middle schools in Anhui province have a better perception of TBLT than male teachers. Younger teachers are more inclined to implement TBLT. Teachers who receive best effect after implementing TBLT are those whose teaching ages between11and15years.(3) The better perception of TBLT teachers have, the more they are inclined to implement TBLT, therefore, the better effect they achieve in teaching. The major implication is:(1) Emphasize not only language form but the meaning and function.(2) Strengthen the building of the teacher staff and give them more training.(3) Evaluate the final effect of TBLT implementation so as to achieve a better implementation.
