| The Ministry of Education formulated the New English Curriculum Standard in2001which pointed out clearly:“Teachers should avoid using the methodologieswhich are only teaching language knowledge, they should try to use the approach of‘Task-Based Language Teaching’(TBLT).†Since then, Task-Based LanguageTeaching has developed fast in our English teaching. So to speak, TBLT sets up abridge between learners’ mother tongue and their target language. It providesinteractive opportunities for learners, stimulates their potential of using English, andcultivates their abilities of using language creatively.Along with the wide implementation of TBLT in middle and primary schools,lots of problems have appeared. Not only having problems among teachers andstudents, but also textbooks and evaluation system in the public schools. As we allknow, private schools have played a more and more important role with thedevelopment of education. What’s the current situation of TBLT application in privatejunior middle schools? And what are the problems that they are facing? By doing theresearch in a private junior middle school, the results knew the current situation ofTBLT application, and some problems were found in the process of implementationof TBLT. It is hoped that this research can help teachers in their English teaching,especially in private junior middle schools.It was praised by many scholars since TBLT applied in China, meanwhile, it isstill in the stage of theoretical analysis and practical exploration. Though TBLTgreatly promoted our English teaching, it still had lots of problems need to be dealtwith. We must clearly recognize that TBLT is urgently in need of localization in orderto adapt the conditions of our country and to better serve for our English teaching. |
