Task-based Approach is a language learning method popped in the 1980s.The Ministry of National Education-Basic Education promulgated new "English curriculum standards" in 2011,and advocates Task-based Approach.It contributes to the implementation of the new curriculum standards of advanced teaching concepts and improves the students' integrated language skills.It also helps to overcome the drawbacks of traditional teaching methods.Under the background of English teaching reform in our country,this article refers to relevant research results at home and abroad,discusses in detail the concept of the task-based teaching method,theoretical basis,etc.,on that basis,through the investigation on one Middle School in Jiutai district,this paper studies the implementation status of the task-based teaching method in rural middle schools,analyzes the existing problems in English teaching practice in rural middle schools,and puts forward corresponding solutions.This paper found that there are some problems in the English class.The problems are as follows.Firstly,The task is not adequately prepared;the guidance is not appropriate in the task activity;the evaluation is single and simple;the task is lack of language focus.Secondly,the teachers ' education concept is backward,and they are lack of the ability of designing tasks.Thirdly,the students are lack of interest in English learning,and the attitude is not positive;the thinking is solidified,and the foundation is weak.To solve these problems,the author makes the following suggestions:First,teachers should change the teaching belief and attitude and understand Task-based Approach comprehensively and correctly.Second,teachers should improve their abilities of designing tasks to meet the development needs of students.Third,teachers should encourage students to express their views frequently and confidently and guide the students to complete the assigned tasks so as to improve the students' integrated language skills.Fourth,give full play to the role of teaching and research group,and strengthen the training of teachers in Task-based Teaching method.Last but not least,improve the evaluation mechanism of education to ensure the smooth implementation of Task-based Approach.The whole thesis consists of five chapters.Chapter One is an introduction to the research background,and it also deals with the significance of the study,research situation at home an abroad and research methods.Chapter Two concerns the summary of the relevant introduction to Task-based Approach.It mainly includes the concept,features and implementation principles of Task-based Approach.It also explains the relevant theories based on the Task-based Approach.And the teaching mode of Willis is sorted out.In Chapter Three,the paper investigate the implementation of Task-based Approach,including The purpose,the object and the process of the investigation and analyzes the data of the research.Chapter Four draws the conclusions from the investigation process and give constructive suggestions according to the difficulties encountered in the application of Task-based Approach.
