Since the nineteen eighties, with the professionalization movement of teachers, theprofessional development of teachers has become one of the central issues of the worldeducation reform. In the same way, professional development kindergarten teachers’ hasbecome the core problem of preschool education. Countries around the world use varieties ofways on teacher education and types of teacher training to promote the professionaldevelopment of kindergarten teachers. Although we spend a lot of manpower, material andfinancial resources, the level of specialization of teachers has not reached the ideal state. Withthe development of information technology and the society, mankind has entered the era ofknowledge economy and learning society, and more and more scholars have pointed out theimportance of personal knowledge in the structure of a teacher’s knowledge. At the same time,personal knowledge management embarks from the individual has got more and more attention.As knowledge workers, kindergarten teachers only take the initiative to understand the conceptof personal knowledge management, and gradually improve personal knowledge managementawareness, the use of strategies and methods of personal knowledge management, improve theability of personal knowledge management, can we truly achieve the aim of kindergartenteachers’ professional development.This paper will analysis the theory of personal knowledge management and explore thepersonal knowledge management to promote the professional development of kindergartenteachers from the following several parts.The first is an overview of personal knowledge management and the professionaldevelopment of kindergarten teachers. Mainly introduces the meaning of personal knowledgemanagement and the professional development of kindergarten teachers, kindergarten teachersfor the necessity and effect of personal knowledge management, and the relationship betweenthe two, laid the theoretical foundation for the following exposition.The second is through a large number of literature,observation of the kindergartenteacher’s personal knowledge management behavior and on interviews some of the kindergartenteachers, the problems and causes of the personal knowledge management of preschoolteachers’ professional development are analysed. Kindergarten teachers’ professional development problems of personal knowledge management mainly includes the following: lackof awareness of personal knowledge management; the limitation of personal knowledgemanagement; personal knowledge management tool used improperly; difficult to achieveknowledge sharing. The causes of these problems are: lack of awareness of the knowledgemanagement of kindergarten; kindergarten teachers neglect of personal knowledge management;kindergarten teachers tedious work.Finally, this part puts forward the corresponding countermeasures on the problems ofpersonal knowledge management to promote the professional development of the kindergartenteachers. For example, improving teachers’ abilities of personal knowledge management; usingthe strategies of knowledge management skillfully; knowing the tools of knowledgemanagement; improving the level of knowledge management.
