Research Of Social Work’s Intervention On Unemployment Among University Graduates

In recent years, with the large-scale enrollment of our colleges and universities, the number of graduate students has increased year by year, the employment of college students’ competitive pressure was also grew, so inevitably, some college students can not be employed on time, leaded to unemployment among graduates. However, the indemnification system for unemployed college students is not perfect, college students once unemployed at home, and then nobody cares about them. The long run, they likely will be the dangerous factors of the society.This article started from the point of view of social work, to study the problem of unemployment among graduates, and then find ways to alleviate unemployment among graduates. This article selected five unemployed college students in Y City, Zhejiang Province, two of them were interviewed online, the other were interviewed face-to-face, final,selected the three face-to-face cases as the object of this paper, and concluded several completions about them. First, education was not high (four Respondents were graduated from academies). The second was no skills. The third was their expected work was quite different with the reality. And these unemployed college students were often faced economic distress, and faced enormous pressure, and even bring about psychological problems. To solve these problems, the author proposed the intervention of social work, according to the theory of the social work profession, used the methods and skills of social work to alleviate unemployment among University graduates, then came out the following several ways. The first was Preventive work Mode, during students in the school, completes a good preparation job for employment. The second was Development work Mode, improves the comprehensive ability of students to improve their competitiveness in the job market, to achieve their self-worth and Development. The third was Treatment work Mode, According to these unemployed college students who had fallen into the psychological problem, used the social work’s methods to correct their psychological and behavioral problem. The fourth was Coordination work Mode. The general methods are eliminate the adverse effects to these unemployed college students to look jobs, and looked for favorable resource for unemployed college students. Finally, we need to request government’s support, propose the social work’s professional advice to the government to formulate relevant policies, laws and regulations, and apply for the financial support from the Government about our work.
