The author used participant observation to investigate Tang Jiahui Central Primary School of children’s extracurricular reading. The work took the author one school term to have a deep view of the whole town’s extracurricular reading. Through investigation, the author found several main problems hindering students reading level, just like book resource unequal distribution, the library and the reading room without using, under10years old students lacking book resource, teachers lacking of enough reading consciousness, low participating of reading activities, students extracurricular reading consciousness needing developing. Students good reading habits and methods need developing. The amount of left-behind children grows year by year and the phenomenon of accompany is increasing. In order to solve these problems, author and workers of programs make some at-temptations and gradually improve poor mountain children’s reading level.
