Research On Culturing Extracurricular Reading Habits Of High Grade Students In Rural Primary Schools

Life without books, just as there is no sunlight; wisdom without books, like the birds lose their wings. Books are the ladders of human progress, reading is an important means of understanding life and access to knowledge and the best way. Good reading habits are reading activities to be carried out effectively and adhere to the premise and guarantee. Grade is from primary to secondary school transition phase, sufficient to further expand the scope of reading literacy, but also lay a solid foundation for the writing, so education should increase this stage students reading guidance on primary school children to develop good reading habits, to improve their reading ability but also of great significance.This paper chooses seven rural primary schools from Liuyang City Town as examples. The writer develops questionnaires and interviews in these schools to understand the reading time, reading attitude, reading will, reading content and reading methods these 5 dimensions. Results of survey indicate the presence of rural primary school children for extracurricular reading habits of these problems:less time reading, less interest in reading, blind to read the content of arbitrary, single reading method. The analysis for reasons is based on the status and needs of students and the students’ cognitive characteristics. The causes are from the students themselves, the school and the family. This paper presents the advices for rural primary school children to culture of good reading habits:carry solid teaching of reading to encourage reading perseverance; carry colorful reading activities to strengthening reading habits; home-school, contributed to develop good reading habits. Paper aims to make teachers aware of the importance of developing good reading habits for student in rural primary schools, and master more methods, and to scientifically and effectively applied to teaching activities and the activities of the class become a culture of rural primary school children good reading habit major force. So that parents raise the degree of attention and guidance of extracurricular reading ability, give full play to the role of family education in the culture of good reading habits, and consolidate the results of school education plays an important role in the culture of reading habits.
