The Ideological and political course in high school combined the persistence of basic ideas of Marxism and comprehend the characteristic of the times. Judging from its content, this course focus more on the real practice of students, aimed at enhance their ability of practice while gaining basic knowledge. Therefore, it is quite important to cultivate the students’ability to gain and analyses information and the ability to think and solve problems. Evidence showed that applying the case-study strategy in high school ideological and political course which may contribute to the participation of students and bring their subjective initiative into play, as well as place the students’ need, motivation and interest into the core status, can make up for the traditional teaching strategies. Case-study, as a newly developing teaching method, has been largely applied into ideological and political courses. Due to some restrictions, however, the aim of optimization has not been realized. Focused on the current situation of how the case-study strategy has been applied in the ideological and political course in high school, this article could be divided in to three main parts as follow.First part represents the requests and the implications of applying case-study strategy in high school ideological and political course. In this part, the context of case-study strategy in high school ideological and political course and the meaning of its optimization application have been demonstrated; the main characters of the application of case-study in high school ideological and political course have been summarized; the specific requests of optimize the application of case-study in high school ideological and political course have been clarified and its implications have also been showed. This part is the theory foundation as well as the logical beginning of the article.In the second part, the current existing problems in the application of case-study in high school ideological and political course as well as the causes have been analyzed. Based on the data of interviews and questionnaires, this article summarized the current existing issue in applying the case-study in high school ideological and political course and further analyzed the causations of these issues which provided the relative perspective of how the case-study strategy could be optimized.The third part focused on the strategy of optimizes the application of case-study in high school ideological and political course. Based on the current problems in employing the case-study in high school ideological and political course and the past referential successes, this part, which is also the most important one of the whole article, discussed the relevant questions and suggested a series of optimization strategies of applying the case-study in high school ideological and political course.
