The Situation And Strategic Research Of The Universities In Beijing Rock Climbing

Rock climbing originated in Europe in1950s， it is derived from themountaineeringas one of the intellectual, physical, technical emerging sports.Rock climbing has introduced into Chinasince1987and been the favorite sport ofcollegestudents.It haspromoted and developed rapidly.The schools which from theoriginal secondary school under the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources havecombined with the professional features to carry out the rock climbing to now morethan60colleges and universities across the country to carry out it and holdRock-climbing contests.It can be said that rock climbing in the national collegeshasgot a large scale of promotion and development,the mass base of the rock climbinghas been gradually strengthened, the number of the participants has increased moreand the scale has been wider.With the deep reformation of college physical education, the teaching methods ofthe physical education class are chosen by the students’ own, treating climbing as oneof the physical education curriculum for teaching which is welcomed by the majorityof the students. The colleges and universities in Beijing make full use of their ownadvantages, combining with the professional features of the schools to carry outvarious forms of rock climbing courses, especially the Peking University, TsinghuaUniversity, China Agricultural University, China University of Geosciences (Beijing),Beijing University of Science and Technology, Beijing University of Aeronautics andAstronautics, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Normal University, Beijing SportUniversity, Beijing Film Academy and other colleges and universities have builtartificial rockwall andformatedthe university student rock-climbing team to haverock-climbing training after class, also have sent teams to participate in the Beijing orNational Undergraduate Climbing Championships.The rock climbing athletes ofuniversitiesinBeijing show the characteristics of the high-level and international,theycan also basically represent the highest level of the rock climbing sport in China.I have searched for a lot of books about the development of rock climbing inChinese universitiesand the research results.By visiting and investigating the situation of building artificial rock climbingand all universitieswhich have courses about rockclimbing in Beijing, to analyze the situation of the rock climbing courses,constructionof the rock climbing facilities, the teachers about rock climbing, the rock climbingteam and the rock climbing leagues. Finding the problems of lacking of professionaltalented people and teachers of the climbing sport in the universities in Beijing,thedevelopment of the schoolsis unbalanced,the level of the theory research is low, theconcept of the education reform is weak and the speed of the construction of thehigh-level sports team is slow.Proposing a series of development strategies andsuggestions like changing the concepts, having courses about rock climbing,accelerating the training of the climbing teachers,optimizingthe teacher teams,constructingthe climbing facilities, improving the equipment, increasing the guidanceto the climbing community activities,strengthen climbing scientific research,focusingon the construction of high-level sports teams and increasing the rockclimbingpropaganda.
