There are poor learning students exist in all subjects since theproduction of education teaching activities, English is no exception,but there are much more poor learning students at vocational school.Scholars and experts from all over the world has carried on thesystematic research on the issue of poor learning students, andachieved some results. In China, front-line teachers or relatededucational experts and psychologists, are trapped in studying thepoor learning students. However, these studies tend to the studentsat normal school whether study aboard or domestic research, andfocusing on mathematical discipline research, the theory research ofpoor learning students at vocational school is not enough, and theresearch of poor learning English at vocational school is much less.So this article emphatically discusses on the poor students oflearning English at vocational school, and put forward to thestrategies of transforming the poor learning English in teachingactivities, enabling them to successfully complete their studies.First of all, this thesis defines the poor students and poor Englishstudents in learning English respectively, which is on the basis of theoretical research at home and aboard, according to the relatedtheory of pedagogy and teaching experience, defined as follows: poorlearning student is refers to the normal intelligence, but due to theweak learning ability, and non-intelligence factors(learningmotivation, learning interest, learning habits, etc.) obstacles, leadingto poor academic performance of students; Poor learning Englishstudent is refers to the normal intelligence, but because Englishfoundation and non-intelligence factors exist obstacles, leading toEnglish grades are not up to the syllabus which has put forward tospecific requirements for the student grade.Secondly, in the process of investigation and research, authorconsulted many educational experts and scholars, refer to their studyachievement, eventually adopt the questionnaire survey method,case method and classroom observation, and do the furtherinvestigation about English poor students of three grade11at Mvocational school in Linfen. At last, author draws the followingconclusion through doing the relevant analysis and summary on theobtained data: External cause of English poor students is mainlyembodied in family, school and social factors; Internal cause isembodied in their own learning basis, learning purpose andmotivation, learning attitude, learning strategy and learninghabits,etc.Finally, author is aimed at the mainly cause of poor students inlearning English and put forward to the following transformingstrategy: to create a good family environment, optimize the campusEnglish learning English environment, improve teachers’ teachinglevel; To improve vocational school social public opinion environment; To strengthen students’ ideological education, English learningmotivation; To create a good learning atmosphere, cultivate thestudents’ interest in learning; Change poor student learningpsychology, train poor student will quality; Guide the poor studentlearning methods, cultivate good English study habit; Students areencouraged to participate in listening, speaking, reading and writingactivities.
