With the science and technology in economic development and social progressceaselessly in the position to enhance, the whole society should pay close attention toscience education. More and more countries to realize, cultivate a large number ofoutstanding talents in science and technology, is the key of the national development,national prosperity and strength. The United States as an educational power, due tothe science education has always attached importance to and their deep sense of crisis,the science education has been in a leading position in the world, become eachcountry follow the object. Especially in1985folk organization of AmericanAssociation for the advancement of Science (AAAS) initiative, organized hundredsof scientists, educators, and all walks of life to many consultants and critic, consistingof five panels of experts, after three years of painstaking research, finally introducedthe science for all Americans--"project2061"(hereinafter referred to as the "project2061"). Not only led the second science and education reform, but also set off aworldwide attention to science education of the new wave. The program is the UnitedStates launched a training program for the twenty-first Century, committed to thecurriculum reform in primary and middle schools to cross a century plan, representthe future of American basic education curriculum and teaching reform trend. It iscalled "project2061", is due to the1985, coinciding with the Halley’s cometapproaching earth, in order to make the United States today’s children, can adapt thescience,technology and the change of social life when Halley comet on2061againnear the earth, so the name."Project2061" is still in effect and has high impact andstatus."Project2061" thinks that " the United States of America ’s next generationwill face the huge transformation, and science, mathematics and technology amongthe changes in the core, they lead to transformation, shape change, and to respond tochange, it is very important to their children for tomorrow’s world." The author studythe thought of science education which based on "project2061",try to provide somereference and ideas for our science education reform.The main research object is the science education thought in "project2061"and is divided into five parts: the preamble is about the reason of the topic, theselected topic significance defining the relevant concepts, discussed the research ofthe "project2061" at home and abroad. In the first chapter, reviews the historical background and developing process of the "project2061". The second chapter toanalyze the concept of science education in “project2061”.In the third chapterdiscusses three implementation steps of the Science Education though. The fourthchapter to study the characteristics and evaluation of science education thought in"project2061".The fifth chapter to explore several enlightenments to our country. Thelast part is a conclusion.
