Countries in the world have raised a series of reform movement on teacher educ-ation since the middle period of the20th century. Our country is also unwilling to lagbehind and carry out a session of education reform which include teacher education.InChina,the mode of teacher training turns from unification to diversification and fromclose to open,pre-education and post-education goes to unite,the need of teachers turnfrom increasing of amount to quality.But,as the reform goes further,questions and co-nflicting come to the fore.Pattern of our teacher education needs to go with the timesand adjust to new situation.“Competency-Based”Teacher Education in America is one of the most importantmovement on Teacher Education reform during20thcentury.It emphasizes students’ a-bility after a period of learning,such as cognitive,performance,consequence,affectiveand exploratory.It has clearly defined objectives,individualized instruction, modulari-zed-curriculum,educational practice,modern educational aims and standard reference.It was seemed to be a effectual educational system and has implemented manyprograms.Although it went to weak during1980s,its basic sprits has broadlyinfiltrated to many educational models of teacher.Now teacher education in ourcountry is in transitional period,it has some shortness,such as lack of enough teachingskill training,theory divorce from practice,and so on. This article starts from the visualangle of Grambling-Ouachita Teacher Corps Program in the hope of having referenceson teacher education in our country,such as set clear aims,use flexible manners,andson.This article divide into five sections:The first section is introduction.It introduces reasons and meanings of thisthesis,sums up research status of this area,definites core concepts and raise reseachingthinking and manners.The second section is the origin and development of “Competency-Based”Teacher Education.It can divide into three phases:after world war I to20th60age,20th60to70age and then20th80age.The third section is Grambling-Ouachita Teacher Corps Program.It researches itsobjective,stuff acquisition,training and evaluation.The forth section is characteristic. This section sums up a series of characteristicsof “Competency-Based” Teacher Education. The fifth section is inspiration of it.It gets some inspirations to our teachereducation from “Competency-Based” Teacher Education.
