The continuing education of foreign primary and secondary school teachers has been changed from "educational compensation type" to improve the quality of teachers' comprehensive teachers.However,the on-the-job education of primary and secondary school teachers in China started late compared with developed countries,and there are many problems to be solved.This paper interviews and questionnaires on the participants of the secondary school biology continuing teachers organized by the Xinjiang Production-Construction Corps in 2018 and the in-service biological teachers in Shihezi City,and analyzes the problems existing in the development of the continuing education of the biological teachers in the Xinjiang Production-Construction Corps.Learning from the development history,policies,education and training mode of foreign secondary school teachers' continuing education,this paper puts forward suggestions and countermeasures for continuing education of middle school biology teachers.Through the analysis of 103 questionnaires collected from 108 teachers and interview results,the following results were obtained:(1)The basic situation of teachers: the number of the teaching age more than 7 years is about 70%;5.83% of the junior college degree,the number of the undergraduate degree is 66.02%,the number of the graduate degree of biological education is 18.45%;the number of advanced The professional title is accounted for 17.48%,the number of the intermediate title is accounted for 28.16%,the number of the intermediate level is accounted for 39.81%,and the number of the untitled is accounted for 14.56%.(2)Basic teaching situation: In terms of career choice,the number of loving biology teacher occupation only accounts for 47.57%;a large number of teachers choose teachers for other reasons,such as stable work or like campus life.In terms of lack of knowledge.Many teachers lack scientific research ability,accounting for 60.19%.Secondly,the number of lacking organizational management capacity accounts for 18.45%,and the number of lacking other knowledge accounts for 21.36%.In terms of teaching ability,most teachers are qualified for teaching tasks.(3)Participation in the basic situation of continuing education: The number of teachers participating in training to improve their teaching ability is the largest,accounting for 81.55%.In the process of participating in continuing education,most teachers participate in online training,special training at the corps level,and school-based training.Participation in training is expected to enhance teaching and research,research capabilities,teaching methods,means and skills.There are many opportunities for teachers to go out for training,however,many teachers do not have training time.(4)Expectations for continuing education: 71.84% of the teachers who are continuing education and training as front-line teachers.In terms of courses,the expected courses are 63.11% for biological experiment design and implementation,and 62.14% for biology teaching design and implementation.Development and education accounted for 60.19%,and classroom teaching art accounted for 60.19%.For the expectations of the assessment method,the attendance and study pens and classroom speeches and assignments each accounted for 31.07%.Based on the questionnaires and the problems found in the interviews,this study proposes the following countermeasures and recommendations:(1)Biology teachers should strengthen teachers' career planning and self-improvement,and should not rely on continuing education to improve their teaching ability;(2)Training should be based on material education,due to Teachers have different job titles and different requirements for training;(3)Teacher training lacks diversity,teachers' needs vary greatly,and continuing education should meet the training needs of different teachers;(4)Pay attention to the needs of biological teachers;(5)Improve the continuing education system for biological teachers.
