The base of our rural population is large, the problem of agriculture, rural areas andfarmers directly restricts the development of China’s economy. Training of farmers is animportant way to improve the quality of farmers and increase their income, due to thetraditional farmers training with short training time, single training methods, it can not meet thedemand for knowledge and technology of modern farmers. Developing distance education inrural areas and designing online training courses can enable farmers to get rid of the restrictionsof the training time and locations, to promote the farmers learn effectively. With thedevelopment of information technology, especially network technology and satellite broadbandtechnology, distance education in rural areas shows broad prospects for development. Themodern distance education project for party members and cadres in rural areas which wasorganized by Party Central Department in2003is a milestone, this project built a workingplatform for the support of party members and cadres in rural areas, developed an amount oflearning resources suitable for rural party cadres and the masses of peasants.This thesis is based on the Social Sciences planning research project in Shandong Province,"the new mode for remote training of farmers based on Internet", this project mainly builds anew mode of remote training of farmers based on the Moodle platform, in order to providereference for future training, better promote the construction of new socialist countryside. Thisthesis mainly the following four points:1.the basic theoretical research. Find out the situation about research and development ofpeasants remote training and Moodle platform on the basis of the relevant literature, to identifythe problems of remote training of farmers and as the basis of the study.2.Literature analysis, combined with the Moodle platform used in teacher trainingexperience to provide a theoretical basis for the design of training content and training activitieslater.3.The design of farmers remote training platform based on Moodle. Under the guidance ofSocial constructivist theory, start the Moodle platform structures and secondary development, design the peasants remote training platform.4.Application of the farmers remote training platform. Selected pilot areas to carry outremote training of farmers then analyze the effect of the peasants remote training, to improvethe platform.The paper uses a combination of literature research, system design, survey and applicationanalysis methods, on the basis of domestic and foreign farmers remote training and Moodleapplication status, learns the experience of United States BFRDA projects and teachers inremote training then proposes a new mode for remote training new farmers based on Moodle intheory.After the installation configuration and personalization secondary development of Moodleplatform, the author designs training courses and achieves video conferencing and livestreaming. Course contents include the introduction of experience for crop class, vegetablecultivation, fruit planting and breed, closely combined with the production and life of farmers,basically meet the demand for production technology. The remote training platform is simpleand easy to operate, and can be applied to a variety of training organizations, for examplecentralized training, group collaborative learning and individual autonomy learning which is agood helper for farmer training.The construction of Platform and courses need to constantly improve and perfect, takinginto account of the requirements of the hardware configuration and training environment, thetraining to carry out need the effective support of the Internet. Integrated in all aspects of thesituation, the author selects san yuan zhu in Shouguang City, Shandong Province as theapplication of the pilot, and tracks the situation of distance learning, timely adjusts thecurriculum and teaching content and methods, makes a simple survey after the training,analyzes the training effect of Moodle platform applications and farmers remote trainingprocess, constantly sums up the experience to improve farmers’ remote training effect.
