With the rapidly development and progress of economic in China, and graduallyspeeding-up urbanization. In an effort to bridge the gap between the development of urbanand rural areas, and slowly eradicate the obstacles arising in the course of rural-urbanintegration, many districts-in-city and rural-urban continuum communities have carried outthe reform of "village to residence" under the guidance of government. And here "villageto residence" refers to an important strategy to accelerate urbanization under the system ofChinese current rural-urban dual structure, which means the reform in political andeconomic systems from countryside to town under the guidance of government on thecondition that the rural politics, economy and cultures etc. have reached or been close tothose in the urban areas. Through this process, peasants’ many rights and benefits havebeen infringed, of which the most highlighted issue is exactly the pension.This study hasbeen brought up in the background of quickened urbanization, a growing number of"village to residence" communities, and aging of the population. And how to solve theissue of the pension among the special senior group in the community of "village toresidence" has become even more related to social stability and economic development.At the beginning of this century, traditional way of family support to old people hasgradually failed to meet the pension demand of the aged with the aggravated trend of agingin China, so the introduced new mechanism is the effective method to mitigate Chinesepension stress. With the concept of altruism and on the base of scientific knowledge, socialwork has achieved the scientific means to help people and is also able to apply professionalknowledge, skills and ways to implementing service activities to solve others’ problems.Social work in the spirit of assistance serves the pension service in the community of"village to residence" so that it can make up for the shortcomings existing in thedevelopment of pension service therein. In other word, participation of social workers inpension service will be able to improve its standard and quality and also enhance the development and perfection of Chinese senior social security service system to someextent.Pension service in H community of Kunshan city has enjoyed gratifying achievements.Regarding H community as study background, through comprehending the status quo. andservice of senior group, via analyzing the outcome and shortcomings brought on in pensionservice by social workers, we can formulate the policy that fits into the pension service inthis community, and that makes the pension service advance forward scientifically, locallyand professionally.
