College P.E Major Students’ Stereotype Questionnaire And Its Demonstration Research

Based on literature review method, field research and the results of open-ended questionnaire survey, the study investigate1386college students,then use factor analysis and correlation analysis to analysis the data, Amend the "College P.E Major Students’Stereotype Questionnaire"with high reliability and validity, while using the questionnaire and ST-IAT experimental paradigm to study the P.E major students and general major students characteristic of college P.E major students explicit and implicit stereotype, the relationship between explicit stereotype and implicit stereotype.The results showed as follows:1.The college P.E major students stereotype questionnaire has good reliability and validity (split-half reliability coefficient of0.872, internal consistency reliability of0.867). It contains three dimensions that are body attributes,behaviors/emotion attributes and personality attributes.2.The college P.E major students and general major students both have explicit stereotype and implicit stereotype to the group of college P.E major students,there is a positive implicit stereotype and the levels is in the medium.Two majors students’explicit stereotype of body attributes are strongest,followed by personality attributes,and finally the behaviors/emotion attributes.3.The study on major differences in college P.E major students’explicit stereotype and its dimensions. In total score and the dimensions of body attributes and personality attributes, college P.E major students’explicit stereotype is stronger than general major students;in the dimensions of behaviors/emotion attribute, general major students, explicit stereotype is stronger than college P.E major students.But there is not significant major differences in implicit stereotype.4. The general major students have not significant grade differences in college P.E major students explicit stereotype and its dimensions,but significant gender differences. The college P.E major students have not significant gender differences in college P.E major students explicit stereotype and its dimensions,but significant grade differences.The results suggest that general major students explicit stereotype only by the gender variable impact,college P.E major students explicit stereotype only by the grade variable impact.5. The college students (including general major and P.E major)explicit stereotype in professional and gender interaction was significant.(1) In total score and the dimensions of body attributes and personality attributes, sports professional male college students’explicit stereotype are stronger than general major male students;in the dimensions of behaviors/emotion attribute, sports professional female students’explicit stereotype is stronger than general major female students;(2) In the general students, female students’explicit stereotype and the stereotype of body attributes and personality attributes are stronger than male students.6.There is not significant correlation between general major students explicit stereotype and implicit stereotyp; there are significant positive correlation between P.E major students explicit stereotype,body attributes,personality attributes, and implicit stereotype. The results suggest that the stronger of the P.E major students explicit stereotype,body attributes and personality attributes,the stronger the implicit stereotype.
