Abstract/Summary:
The rapid development of my country’s economy has led to a gradual increase in the gap between the rich and the poor in society, and the society’s call for fairness has become stronger. The general public generally regards wealth as a measure of the identity of the rich, and understanding the individual’s impression of the rich can effectively prevent fairness issues caused by economic imbalances. As a group that is about to enter society, college students will inject new vitality into society and will become the mainstay of promoting social development. Therefore,it is very important to understand the impression of college students on the rich. The belief in a just world reflects the individual’s perception of social justice.Exploring the relationship between the belief in a just world and the attitudes of the rich can provide scientific guidance to college students and reduce the possibility of hostility to the rich due to economic gaps and the possibility of related social contradictions.Based on the theory of just world beliefs and the dual attitude model theory, this research uses experimental methods, questionnaire surveys and measurement methods to explore the status quo of college students’ beliefs in the just world and the stereotypes of the rich and the relationship between the two.Study one uses the semantic difference scale method to compile a survey questionnaire on the explicit rich stereotypes of college students to explore the status quo of the explicit rich stereotypes of college students;the second study uses a single-type implicit association test to measure the implicit rich stereotypes of college students Impression level: Research 3 uses the "Justice World Belief Scale" to understand the status of college students’ beliefs in the just world, and combines the data from Research 1 and Research 2 to analyze the relationship between the beliefs in the just world and the stereotypes of the rich.In this paper, after investigating and analyzing 74 college students, the following conclusions are obtained:1.College students have obvious explicit and implicit stereotypes of the rich. Both the explicit and implicit stereotypes are positive, but there is no significant correlation between the two stereotypes.2.There are differences in gender and age in the implicit stereotype of the rich in college students, but there is no difference in gender and age in the stereotype of the explicit rich.3.Faith in the just world in which the university lives, and the overall belief in the just world is strong.4.There is a very significant negative correlation between college students’ belief in a fair world and the stereotype of the explicit rich, but there is no significant correlation with the stereotype of the implicit rich.
