Education is the basis of a country, whose standard decides the general standard of thedevelopment of the country. In consequence, many specialists in education and teachers havebeen trying to find out the most effective ways to promote the education standard in order toguarantee the growth of the children happily and healthily. At present, most people haverealized that school education and home education are the two most important ones among allthe factors influencing the children’s healthy growth. There is no doubt that the school shouldcooperate with family. As a matter of fact, there are many means of cooperation betweenschools and families, such as parents committee, the parents meeting, school-home link card,communication by phone, home visits, etc. what’s more, home visit is becoming more andmore popular with schools, teachers and parents to enhance the cooperation between schooland family. In fact, the main aim of home visit is to guarantee the students to grow uphealthily by communication between teachers and parents.Once home visit is mentioned, we usually think of home visit by primary school teachersand by class head-teachers. To be honest, high school students are growing rapidly bothmentally and physically. They also face great pressure from the College EntranceExamination. As a result, it is very necessary for high school teachers to pay home visits andhave a face-to-face talk with their parents. However, in reality, home visits are only in form.The real home visit is much rare. Either the depth of the theory or the width of the practice isfar away from the expected effect. The main reason are as follows: the theory on home visitand school rules are not mature; many teachers and parents have little knowledge about homevisits; students can’t really understand home visits. In consequence, home visit, which istraditional and warm-hearting suffers a lot in actual practice. So, in order to enhance the effectof education, how to combine school education and home education by home visit becomes aproblem badly remaining to be solved. This paper is based on this background. This paper ismainly divided into four parts.Part One is the introduction. It mainly contains the background of the research, theresearch at home and abroad, some related definitions and the research methods in this paper.Part Two is the necessity of X Middle School carrying out home visiting and thesituation, including the necessity of X Middle School carrying out home visiting, the present situation and the problems existing in the daily home visiting. Some detailed information isalso given.Part Three is about the causes about the problems in daily home visiting of X MiddleSchool. According to the research, I found that the problems mainly lie in that the school hasnot set up effective principles, teachers are not active in home visiting, some tasks about homevisiting are not completely finished, some teachers are lacking in the skills of successfulcommunication, some students misunderstand the meaning of home visiting and some parenthave not a deep understanding of the teacher’s home visiting.Part Four mainly introduces the strategies of strengthening the effectiveness of theteachers’ home visiting. With regard to the problems, I mainly come up with four strategies:the school should set up complete and effective principles; the teachers should pay attentionto their own professional development; the parents should try to understand the purpose of theteacher’s home visiting and actively cooperate with the teachers to help the students grow uphealthily; the students should choose to communicate with their parents and teachersfrequently. Only in these cases, can the effectiveness of the teachers’ home visiting beguaranteed.
