In2001, primary schools in Shanghai introduced Information Technology as acompulsory course, announcing the comprehensive spread of the course in theelementary education and indicating that education in Shanghai has fully marchedinto the information age, which is an inevitable result of Shanghai’s being aninternational metropolis and the information-based society.The introduction of Information Technology in the whole study periods willundoubtedly improve students’ techniques and skills of information technologyrapidly (mainly their techniques and skills of computer). However, the improvementof their techniques and skills doesn’t mean the improvement of their informationliteracy. The phenomena such as students’ being able to operation but unable toinstall, poor awareness of information security and the worrying internet civilizationreveal the lack of students’ inner capacity of information, making it urgent toimprove students’ information literacy.Information literacy is a comprehensive ability concerning technology,humanities, morality and law. The improvement of computer techniques is the key toimproving information literacy but it’s not enough. Students should be internally beedified with morals and humanity accomplishment. Hence, the humanities educationaimed to cultivate the culture of information technology and pass on the spirit ofinformation technology contributes to the fundamental improvement of students’information literacy.Based on exploring the approaches to penetrating the history of computerscience into class, disseminating the history of computer development in high schoolstudents, leading students to trace the thread and nature of cause of computerscience, spreading the latest computer technology and imagining the future ofcomputer science, the study case presents a humanized history of computer science.The study refers to a large number of relevant theories at home and abroad andcarries out the investigations on current state of teaching the history of the computerscience targeted at the Senior High One students in Shanghai Fudan High School. The thesis analyzes data and current teaching materials and resources, explores the newteaching activities such as“Students’Forum”、“Analysis of Incidents” inclassroom teaching and provides some practical experience and strategies inpromoting students’ information literacy by penetrating the history of computerscience into class, passing on the spirit of the course, internalizing the course spiritand cultivating students’ concept of information.
