Traditional multi-functional motion measurement control cards are generally based on ISA bus or PCI bus, does not support hot-swappable.It affects the stability of the motion measurement control card;another based on the single chip controller is low cost and can run steadily,but the limited storage and the lowrunning speed restrict its application.In this paper,we design a new type of motion measurement control card based on USB bus and using FPGA as its main control unit.It uses the USB bus’s advantages such as high-speed,stable,easy of use and FPGA’s rich resources,strong ability of processing,easy expansion,etc.With the information processing abilities of computer and the motion measurement control abilities of motion measurement control card,the motion measurement control card has the features of powerful information processing ability,good openness, position measured accurately and easy to use.At first,we introduce the domestic and foreign development actualities of motion measurement control card,and the constitution of multi-functional motion measurement control system.Then the USB technology and the FPGA technology are introduced briefly, put forward the design scheme based on the technical requirements of multi-functional motion measurement control card,the hardware design and software design of motion measurement control card is discussed in detail.Finally,the designed card implements the functions such as USB communications, trapezoidal acceleration and deceleration, SRAM read and write data, position measurement, linear interpolation,quantitative pulse output and digital input/output.
